Generally add 1 per cubic meter of salt water. 5~2L shall prevail. Of course, the lower the magnesium content at the outlet of the preprocessor, the better, because the preprocessor mainly removes magnesium, and the filter mainly removes calcium. The amount of ferric chloride should be controlled at 10--20 PPM/L of salt water. If the export salt water is clear water, the magnesium content should not be higher than 20 mg/L.
Is it too alkaline and not very dark in color?
If the amount of over-alkali is not high, you must not add too much FeCL3, otherwise the salt water will become acidic.
The refined salt we use has basically no floating mud. The ferric chloride has been prepared, but I have never added it. Personally, the refined salt itself has a high iron content and few impurities. There is no need to add refined salt water to measure calcium and magnesium. The calcium and magnesium are always trace amounts and cannot be measured.
Let me digress. Are you interested in changing the process and using complex iron salts as the flocculant? The effect will be better and the cost will be lower. Please consider it.
