Problems with the reinforcement ring?

I have just started working on the design of chemical process pressure vessels, and I’m not yet aware of the precautions regarding the use of reinforcement rings. When should reinforcement rings be used for strengthening? And when should thick-walled pipes be used for that purpose? Please ask the sea friends for guidance!

Check the standards for reinforcing rings; JB/T4736-2002 specifies their scope of application. I believe that if conditions permit, it is advisable to use thicker-walled pipes as much as possible; if thicker-walled pipes are not available, then reinforcement rings should be considered.

Our practice is to use thick-walled pipes for DN40 and below; for DN40 and above, the choice depends on the pressure and the properties of the medium.
For applications with low requirements, reinforcement rings are generally used for reinforcement, as described in GB 150 8. It complies with clause 6.2.2 of HG 20583, which requires overall reinforcement, that is, reinforcement of thick-walled pipes or housings. Sometimes, when the corrosion margin is large and it is inconvenient to use reinforcement rings for the small nozzles, the wall thickness of the nozzles is increased to ensure an adequate reinforcement area!
