I have just started working in design and don’t know how to choose a motor. I would appreciate some guidance: 1. How to determine whether to choose a DC motor or an AC motor. 2. After making that choice, how to decide on the specific model of motor to use. 3. To select a particular motor, what parameters are needed in order to look up the information in tables to determine the appropriate motor
The choice between AC and DC depends on the power supply conditions in your application. Factors such as whether speed control is required and the magnitude of the starting shock for the motor also play a role in this decision; To further determine the motor model, it is generally necessary to identify the required torque and speed, which then determines the power needed. As for the installation method, it depends on the actual application.
It is necessary to calculate the required power as well as other parameters such as the maximum speed based on your load conditions, and then select the appropriate model according to the manual
For general purposes, three-phase AC asynchronous motors are used, with the power level determined by the size of the load.
1. It depends on the power supply conditions at the site. 2. It depends on the requirements for transmission accuracy, the installation location on site, and the operating environment. 3. The required motor power is calculated based on the load to be driven and the desired speed, among other factors
