With the Yokogawa pure water pH meter, the readings obtained after adding ammonia to the water do not always match the laboratory test values; however, the meter functions properly when calibrated using standard solutions. After replacing the electrode, the readings now correspond to the laboratory test values. I would appreciate some advice on this issue.
It’s likely that the electrode’s lifespan has expired. However, there are reasons for the discrepancies between readings from online instruments and those obtained in the laboratory; factors such as the sampling location, changes in sample temperature, and further progression of chemical reactions can also cause such differences.
