What the original poster is referring to is probably a generally applicable method in theory. In practical applications (in our organization), there is only one type: pump feeding in the flow direction with exhaust at the higher point. All outlets are equipped with check valves, making reverse flow difficult to achieve. Even for high-temperature pumps, if the outlet pump line is too thin, backflow takes a long time, making it impossible to use.
