What methods are used for reclaimed water reuse? Which method is the best? What are the principles, processes, and equipment involved? Thank you
What kind of reclaimed water? If it’s a circulating water system, I really am not aware of such a concept
Wastewater reuse treatment methods: Based on the methods currently in use, they can be roughly divided into 4 categories: (1) Biological treatment methods – These make use of microorganisms in water to absorb and oxidize/decompose the organic substances in wastewater; this includes both aerobic and anaerobic microbial treatments, with aerobic treatment being more commonly used. (2) Physicochemical treatment methods These methods rely on a combination of coagulation sedimentation (air flotation) techniques and activated carbon adsorption. Compared to traditional secondary treatment, they improve water quality, but the operating costs are higher. (3) Membrane separation technology Ultrafiltration (microfiltration) or reverse osmosis membranes are used for treatment; the advantage is a high removal rate of SS, and the floor space required is much less compared to traditional secondary treatment methods. (4) Combination of biological treatment methods and membrane separation technology: The membrane bioreactor (MBR), a new technology for reclaimed water reuse, features stable water quality in the output stream, low operating costs, simple operation, and easy maintenance; the quality of the water produced meets all the standards for **reclaimed water reuse.
As for equipment, it’s not possible to give a general answer regarding the methods to be used along with the devices that need to be employed.
The water leaving us now is from the outlet of the MBR membrane tank; the quality of this water meets the **requirements, but its salt content is still too high. We need further treatment – what should we do? Add reverse osmosis
