To ensure the quality of phosphate ammonium fertilizer, how to quickly test its quality in order to provide a basis for making timely adjustments to the product quality
Phosphorus-measuring ammonium products seem to have no fluorescence, so they cannot be detected using LC-MS/MS. Their boiling point seems to be low, and it can be detected using the temperament test. It takes no long time to do it – just over 10 minutes to half an hour – and the results are quite convincing. The sensitivity in the gas phase is quite good
Reply to Canghai Yili Sha: I often use LC-Ms for liquid analysis; I frequently use GC as well, since I used to work in organic synthesis and needed it often. Generally, inorganic substances do not have fluorescence. But it can be tried using the gas phase, by dissolving it with propane. If you want to detect the organic impurities inside, you can use LC-MS for that purpose. Because I don’t know what impurities are actually in it either, so it’s hard to say
There are already posts in the forum discussing the topic of how to choose between liquid chromatography and gas chromatography; I recall that the main criterion for making such a choice is the boiling point, or rather, the vaporization temperature, of the substance to be analyzed. As far as I know, ammonium phosphide does not vaporize, so my conclusion is that using gas chromatography might not meet the requirements for testing it.

Photometric analysis can be used, and it should be relatively fast.
Photometric methods are also not very stable; as far as I know, the several plants that produce ammonium phosphate are currently using the second method mentioned on page 5, and it takes around over an hour to obtain results.
