For posts related to layout themes, especially those that involve sharing content on websites, as well as exchanges of learning experiences in English, spoken language, conversations, famous quotes, proverbs, idioms, and classic poems, please make use of the internal search function before rating them. Currently, there are many duplicate posts on the site; sometimes even several posts with identical content but different titles appear under adjacent themes. Therefore, please conduct a search first before deciding whether to remove such posts or rate them. Additionally, I personally advocate for taking a serious approach to those replies in the discussion threads that are empty and meaningless – especially posts like “I’ve learned something, thank you, it’s very useful.” To improve the quality of these threads, I believe that the number of replies isn’t the key factor. First and foremost, we should keep in mind that this is a chemical engineering forum; therefore, to establish a distinct identity among all the different sections, I think it’s essential for the moderators to work together to ensure that only high-quality posts are allowed. It’s better to have fewer posts but of good quality, so that users understand that this forum is a place worth visiting, as they can gain something from it.
Although I’m not the moderator, it has to be admitted that what the original poster said makes sense. Those posts that are merely copied verbatim, without any thought on the part of their authors, still receive points – and quite a few at that. This is a disregard for those posts that require effort and thought, even if they aren’t perfect. The moderators are busy, so it’s unlikely they can check every post; therefore, it’s up to us to use our keen judgment and good judgment skills to protect original and high-quality content, thereby creating a distinctive style of chemical engineering English for our community, and sharing it together
As moderators, we will certainly take everyone’s sincere suggestions into account to ensure that every detail is handled properly. When dealing with posts, we will also stick to our core principle of preferring quality over quantity. :)
