The specification depends on the 800-distance; I think what you mentioned of 1.5 refers to the distance from the wall. It actually serves as a safety passage.
The engineering regulations for the layout design of chemical plant equipment date from 1992; I’m not sure if there have been any changes since then. All I could find was this old book to browse through.:
At Wochang, the spacing between the reaction vessels in our factory isn’t very large either; some seem to be 500 mm apart
I’m not sure what the spacing between those things is, but I’ve seen some where even a person turning sideways can’t get through. It’s just over 200!
There is no explicit provision in the standards; as long as the requirements for operation and maintenance are met, it’s sufficient. Generally, at least 800 mm should be left between reaction vessels.

Depending on the different reaction material systems, distances are reserved to meet the requirements for installation, operation, safety, and maintenance
If 600 refers to the distance between the reaction vessels, that’s definitely not correct; there’s also the angle at which the lifting lugs are positioned, and it should be 1.5 meters instead
A spacing of 600mm is a bit too small; consideration also needs to be given for maintenance, pipes, and space for adding materials.

Page 42 of HG20546-92 specifies that the minimum clear distance between two containers in any area is 1500. In my opinion, since the reaction kettle is supported on a platform, if the steel beams of that platform do not meet the required distance specifications, it is possible to set the value at around 1500; the minimum value should not be less than 1200. But try to meet the 1500 requirement. Specific issues should be addressed on a case-by-case basis, but the claim that “one person can’t even pass by” is too exaggerated.
