Regarding the anti-corrosion treatment of the grounding flat bars for lightning and static protection inside the station and warehouse (the above-ground portion), what should be the color of the anti-corrosion paint, and how should it be applied? Lightning protection grounding elements are usually galvanized; only the weld areas need to be repainted with silver powder paint, while the grounding wires buried underground must also be coated with epoxy coal tar pitch.
1. Galvanized pipe fittings do not require painting, unless you have special requirements. 2. Welds and carbon steel fittings need to be painted, again for the purpose of corrosion prevention. I can’t remember what the criteria are

GB 50169-92 Code for Construction and Acceptance of Grounding Installations in Electrical Installation Projects: 2.3.7 The installation of exposed grounding wires shall meet the following requirements: 1) It shall be easy to inspect. 2) The installation location should not hinder the disassembly and maintenance of the equipment. 3) The distance between the supports should be 0.5~1.5 m for the horizontal straight sections ; The vertical portion should be 1.5 to 3 meters ; The turning radius should be 0.3~0.5m. 4) The grounding wire should be laid horizontally or vertically, or it can also be laid parallel to the inclined structure of the building ; On a straight line segment, there should be no undulations or bends. 5) When the grounding wire is laid horizontally along the wall of a building, its distance from the ground should be between 250 and 300 mm ; The gap between the grounding electrode and the building wall should be 10~15 mm. 6) When the grounding wire crosses building expansion joints and settlement joints, compensators should be installed. (The grounding can be accomplished by simply using an arc shape instead.) 2.3.8 The surface of the exposed ground wire shall be painted with green and yellow stripes of equal width, 15~100 mm each. Markings should be made along the entire length of each conductor, or only in each section or on each contactable part. When using tape, two-color tape should be used. The neutral wire should be marked in blue. The above are the regulatory requirements; however, in our construction work we follow these standards to some extent. For underground areas, asphalt paint is generally used for corrosion protection, while silver powder paint is typically used for the above-ground sections. The specific approach still needs to be discussed with the future inspector; after all, it’s up to the person in charge to make the decisions, haha. But following the standards will definitely avoid any problems.
