At the current prices of liquefied gas and gasoline, what is the operating status of the alkylation units in various plants?
In China, apart from a few alkylation units that are in operation (such as Fushun Petrochemical), most of them have not been started up. The reasons are, first, the currently high price of liquefied gas, and second, alkylation units generally use the sulfuric acid method or HF acid method, which causes severe corrosion to the units and makes it difficult to handle the resulting waste acids.
