What exactly is a so-called Π-type compensator? Please give me some advice.
There are three types of compensators commonly used in the design of pressure pipelines: Π-type compensators, wave-shaped compensators, and sleeve or spherical compensators. The Π-type compensator features a simple structure, reliable operation, and low cost, which makes it widely used in the design of petrochemical pipelines. When using Π-shaped pipe sections for compensation, it is advisable to place them at the midpoint between two fixed points. To prevent excessive lateral displacement of the pipeline, guide frames should be installed on both sides of the Π-shaped compensator. Simply put, a Π-type compensator arranges the pipes in a Π shape to absorb the deformation caused by the thermal expansion and contraction of the pipes.
