Everyone knows the consequences of steam containing water in a turbine; therefore, it is strictly prohibited to allow such conditions to occur during operation – otherwise, the offender will be dismissed from work and sent to jail. Reason: 1. The inlet steam contains water. The liquid level in the 2-extraction condensing turbine reheat apparatus is high. Action: Emergency shutdown to prevent equipment damage.
1. A poor shaft seal allows air to enter, causing the steam to condense into water. 2. A decrease in vacuum level causes steam to accumulate in the cylinder for an extended period, increasing its humidity; as a result, water may condense. Action: Stop the vehicle immediately to check the cause; otherwise, the consequences will be severe
The poor quality of the steam is the key issue – there are no drain valves or water separators before it enters the unit? First, drain the water by opening the lower drain valve on the casing; water hammer will cause vibration.
At a certain factory, a condensing steam turbine encountered a serious problem: the malfunction of the liquid level gauge in the surface cooler caused the liquid level to rise and enter the turbine. It was later disassembled for major repairs.
