Are there any special requirements for installing shut-off valves at the inlet and outlet of liquid ammonia spheres?
First, solenoid valves are preferred for valves, as they operate quite quickly； Second, the valve must be an ammonia-compatible valve (with a babbitt plug) ； Third, the pressure rating of the valve must be equal to or exceed the design pressure of the container.
Liquid ammonia medium pipelines should be equipped with dual valves; it is preferable to have a remotely controlled shut-off valve for easy and quick control.
It’s best to use the one driven by nitrogen; the hydraulic version is also good, but it requires remote control.
Install a double-check valve for ammonia; the pressure rating of the valve should be one grade higher than the operating pressure.
