In our country, there are price limits on fertilizers; before the crisis broke out last year, the international price of urea was 600–700 US dollars per ton, while the domestic price of urea was 1,725 yuan per ton. As for other chemical products, such as polypropylene, its price was 14,000 yuan per ton. Currently, the price of polypropylene is around 5,000 yuan per ton. The current price of urea is 1,940 yuan per ton. Therefore, the financial crisis has a significant impact on the chemical industry, but it does not have much effect on the profitability of the fertilizer industry.
When the financial crisis hit, the salaries of all employees in the company were reduced by 10%. This does not even include the income losses resulting from decreased profitability.

In fact, whether prices rise or fall, it’s good enough if a company can persevere to the end. In the context of financial crises, a slight reduction in individual income – meaning that one is willing to accept the minimum level that the company can tolerate – should not be the only thing we worry about at present. What’s crucial is whether the company can operate over the long term; by ensuring stable production cycles, it also guarantees employees’ economic income, stabilizes their livelihoods, and lays a foundation for social stability. An employee who has worked for the same company for decades is closely tied to it, and their loyalty to the company far exceeds their desire for money. It is certain that the severity and duration of this global financial crisis are by no means short-term phenomena; it is likely to play a role in cleaning up the market.
