While reviewing posts recently, I noticed a problem: why do some old posts automatically generate a lot of garbled characters over time? How to solve it? For example, in this post: http://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-381548-1-1.html, a lot of the content is garbled and completely unreadable. Could some knowledgeable expert please take a look and suggest how to solve this?
How could this happen! It’s probably garbled text that occurred during the forum upgrade; I guess only the admin can fix it!
This appears in the sections where the HMLT function is enabled but not in those where it isn’t; it can be edited manually or with some software. Of course, the forum also provided a link to a repair tool, but it couldn’t be found for the time being – you could ask the administrator. :lol
Solution: 1. Create a new text file in TXT format, copy the garbled content into it, and save it； 2. Change the file extension from .txt to .html or .htm ； 3. Double-click to open the file after renaming, and you will see text without encoding errors in the browser ； 4. Copy and paste to obtain text that does not affect readability. But now the forum has enabled a function for copying text with garbled characters; the documents obtained through copying contain a lot of such garbled characters that they need to be deleted manually, which is a huge amount of work... Ugh, I edited the second floor post and deleting those garbled characters really frustrated me... I suggest contacting the person who posted the original content so that they can update it directly...
