Dear friends, our process is a coke oven gas to methanol process. The design is to lead the process condensate from the conversion section into the deaeration tank and directly use it as boiler water. Is your process designed like this? Is there any use like this?
Our process is: The condensate is stripped through the stripping tower and then pumped to the synthetic evaporator. Since the project has not been put into production yet, I don’t know if it is possible?

The condensate of our conversion process was returned to the circulating water. It was finally determined that the water quality was acidic and the water cooler was corroded. Finally, the water cooler was replaced with a stainless steel core.
As a methanol production process, the condensate of the conversion process generally uses a stripping tower and a saturated tower, and part of it is recycled into the process steam.; The CO2 content of the unrecovered part can be greatly reduced. If it does not meet the boiler feed water quality requirements, it can be treated accordingly and then used as boiler feed water.
The process condensate contains volatile and acidic substances. It is recommended not to be used as boiler feed water but to be discharged into the circulating water system.;
It is reasonable to introduce a circulating pool. It cannot be directly introduced into the desalted water pipe unless it is reprocessed because the impurity content is still quite high.
The condensate of the conversion process in our old equipment is directly used as boiler water. Since the water is acidic and unstable, it is difficult to adjust the PH value of the boiler water.; The converted condensate of the new device is decarbonized by the stripper and returned to the desalted water device for purification and used as boiler water.
The deaeration station and circulating water cannot be directly directed. The process condensate in the conversion section is combined water, not physical water. It contains certain impurities and needs to be sent to the biochemical treatment station for treatment before reuse. We were designed by the Second Institute of Chemical Engineering, so I think it makes sense.
Ours is sent to biochemical water treatment for reuse. The condensate of the conversion process is combined water and cannot be directly sent to the deaeration station and circulating water.
Since the conversion condensate is acidic, if it is directly used as circulating water, it will corrode the pipeline, so it is directly sent to the biochemical treatment station and treated as coke water.

Our conversion condensate and turbine condensate are combined into the raw water tank, pre-treatment, and anion and cation bed for desalination. The volume is not large and there is no major problem. However, the corrosion and erosion of the pipelines in the conversion system are particularly severe, and it is not possible to replace all the pipelines with stainless steel.
We do not have such a process here, but we recycle the process condensate to other stations for processing before use. I think what we have here is more reasonable. The process condensate contains more impurities. Although the process condensate here has been stripped, it is still treated before recycling.
I have been studying this for more than a year. I discussed it with Mr. Zhang from the Second College. I have visited many manufacturers, including coke oven gas methanol plants in Shandong Shenglong, Haihua, Qinghua, and Shanxi. I think it is best to use recycled water as supplementary water, but it needs to be treated very simply. Lead the condensate to the cooling tower to reduce pressure and temperature to remove CO2, so that the PH value in the water will not be too low. Although the conductivity and salinity are higher, circulating water sewage discharge can solve this problem. In addition, the influence of the chemicals in the circulating water must be considered. The medicines from Shenglong and the School of Chemical Engineering of Nanjing University of Science and Technology are more effective, and there is no need to add acid to the circulating water.
In fact, the effect of stripping is not ideal. I have been involved in the treatment of process condensate (not conversion process condensate at that time) since 2005. The operation of the stripper is unstable. Even the manufacturers that have been listed are mostly not in operation, and the effect is not ideal. The second hospital blew away all the subsequent designs, and then designed to remove biochemical treatment. I personally think it is a pity.
Ours has also undergone biochemical treatment. This does not mean that debiochemical treatment is a waste. The condensate contains many impurities.
It is also feasible to directly circulate water with a small amount, but the quality of boiler feed water condensate is not good.
The old equipment is sent back to the desalted water station for processing. After all, desalted water is very expensive.; For new installations, it is recommended to design a saturated process, with the rear system preheating the front system to produce less steam. In this way, gas consumption, oxygen consumption, and water consumption will all be reduced.
