Question: Guys, for your plants, which pipeline is used for dehydration after steam pressure testing of the coke tower? Where to go? We went to the cold and hot water tanks; when the water release valve was opened, the hot water tank shook violently (there was no liquid level in the tank, the inlet pipe had a diameter of DN250, and the vent on the top of the tank was DN150 in diameter)
It goes into the oil rejection tank and is carried away along with the oil from the initial preheating stage; does it enter the cold coker hot water tank without any oil?
We are going to the cold coke water oil separator (an old-type device; it’s equivalent to the hot water tank in the new process). Regarding the issue of the hot water tank shaking violently when the drain valve is opened wide, it is possible to use the overflow line during pressure relief with a smaller opening, and then use the drain line at the bottom of the tower.
In the old unit, the water is removed through low-temperature venting and sent to the oil separation tank; in the new unit, it can be sent to two places – either the hot water tank or the heating furnace’s coking tank. Once the unit is operating normally, the appropriate route is determined based on actual conditions. If there is a significant impact on the hot water tank, then the water can be sent to the heating furnace’s coking tank.
1. Send it to the coking tank and discharge it into the coking pool (this is the first method I use in my setup). 2. Discharge it into the cold coke water tank, following the water discharge process. 3. It is best not to place it in the oil drain tank, as it poses safety risks
