The process calculations for tower equipment mainly involve mass balance calculations and heat balance calculations. Once these two types of calculations are completed, the structural dimensions of the tower are essentially determined; subsequent steps involve the calculations related to the equipment itself. The equipment design is for vertical units, following the design specifications for towers, after which strength and stability calculations are performed.
Process calculation is the basis for equipment calculation. Generally, those who design equipment are well-versed in equipment calculations, so the questions asked relate to process calculations that they are not familiar with.
