If the oxygen pressure is high, at 5 MPa or 7 MPa, can pressure-containing plugging be used as well?
5Mpa and 7Mpa represent too high pressures; it is likely difficult to stop the leak while the pressure is still present. In the event of a leak in a pipeline or container, it should first be isolated by cutting it off and creating a bypass, thereby reducing the pressure in that section of the pipeline. A blind flange should then be used for isolation, and testing should be conducted. If the leak can be repaired, welding can be carried out afterward. If isolation isn’t possible, the pressure and flow rate must be reduced, or operations may need to be halted
To stop the leak, it is necessary to identify the exact location of the leakage in the oxygen pipeline; not every leak can be sealed under pressure or fixed using clamps. In such cases, you can send an email to discuss the issue. :)
Personally, I think 5MPA and 7MPA should also be sufficient for suppressing leaks. I remember that in the original setup, pressure pipes with weights of dozens of kilograms could still be secured with clamps. Personally, I think if the amount of air leakage is not significant, there’s no need to shut down operations to address it, as the losses resulting from such a shutdown would be considerable.

First, purge the leak site with nitrogen; be sure to keep the area free of open flames and establish an isolation zone. Based on the amount of leakage, determine whether shutdown is necessary. It is generally not advisable to use clamps on oxygen pipelines
No open flames are allowed in the leak area; if the pressure is not too high, sealing can be carried out under pressure, while if the pressure is high, it must be reduced first before sealing. If sealing is not possible, the system must be shut down for handling, but the pipeline needs to be purged – air purification is sufficient. Once the analysis shows satisfactory results, welding can be performed at normal pressure.

Minor leaks do not affect production; using a PTFE gasket along with pipe clamps is sufficient. The problem arises when there is a leak at the flange, as it’s difficult to secure it in that case; pressure relief is the best solution – safety comes first. In the case of a (relatively) large leak, attempting to seal it under pressure can be dangerous due to the high flow rates and resulting local temperature increases; extreme caution is required.

Since there is a leak, there should be no illusions about it; it’s not possible to seal the leak while the system is under pressure. The only solution is to shut down the system as quickly as possible, then replace the air with nitrogen. After that, the groove can be polished and repaired by welding. This is the top choice for a qualified scheduler; personal safety comes first.
Perform local parking to isolate the pipe section, carry out displacement, and after the analysis shows satisfactory results, seal the leak.

After researching relevant information, the highest value found is 5 MPa. Plugging leaks under pressure is a highly dangerous and technically demanding task; insurance is of utmost importance. It’s better to opt for partial shutdown instead
