Installation requirements for flow limiting orifice plates

Today, I heard from the leader that the installation of the flow-limiting orifice plate can be arbitrary, but what I saw in the book is that the flow-limiting orifice plate is generally installed horizontally. When installed on the riser, the gas flows from top to bottom and the liquid flows from bottom to top. I don’t know how to do this, please ask everyone! :)
Generally, there are no specific requirements. There are positive and negative requirements. The main purpose of current limiting is to produce a pressure drop, which has nothing to do with the orientation.
There should be no requirements. The principle of the orifice plate is to reduce pressure and limit flow. Most of them require horizontal or vertical installation requirements because their working principles are affected by gravity.
