What are the requirements for registering as a safety engineer?

Registration Qualification Examination for Safety Engineers: Safety engineers are intended for professional technicians in production and operation units who are engaged in work related to safety management, safety engineering technology, as well as those in intermediary organizations that provide technical services for safety production. 1. Eligibility criteria According to the document issued by the Municipal Personnel Bureau and the Municipal Work Safety Supervision and Administration Bureau (Jin Ren Zhuan [2003] No. 55), the eligibility criteria for taking the Certified Safety Engineer professional qualification exam are as follows: Any citizen of the People’s Republic of China who abides by relevant laws and regulations and meets one of the following conditions may apply to take this exam: (1) Having obtained a secondary vocational education degree in safety engineering or engineering economics, and having worked in work safety-related fields for at least 7 years ; Or possess an associate degree in another related field, with at least 9 years of experience in work related to safety production. (2) Hold an associate degree in safety engineering or engineering economics, and have at least 5 years of experience in work related to safe production ; Or hold an associate degree from another specialized university, with at least 7 years of experience in work related to safe production. (3) Hold a bachelor’s degree in safety engineering or engineering economics, with at least 3 years of experience in work related to safe production; or hold a bachelor’s degree in another field, with at least 5 years of experience in work related to safe production. (4) Hold a second bachelor’s degree in safety engineering or engineering economics, or have graduated from a graduate program, and have at least 2 years of experience in work related to safe production; or hold a second bachelor’s degree in another field or have graduated from a graduate program, with at least 3 years of experience in tasks related to safe production. (5) Hold a master’s degree in safety engineering or engineering economics, and have at least 1 year of experience in work related to safe production ; Or hold another professional master’s degree and have at least 2 years of experience in work related to safe production. (6) Obtain a doctoral degree in safety engineering or engineering economics ; Or hold a degree from another professional field, with at least 1 year of experience in work related to safe production. 2. Conditions for exemption from certain subjects: Professionals who meet the registration requirements for the Certified Safety Engineer qualification exam, and who had already been appointed to a senior professional position prior to the issuance of the Interim Provisions, as well as those who have worked in safety production-related fields for at least 10 years, may be exempted from the two subjects of \"Safety Production Management Knowledge\" and \"Safety Production Technology\". They only need to take the exams in \"Knowledge of the Safety Production Law and Related Laws\" and \"Analysis of Safety Production Accident Cases\". 3. Examination Subjects: The Professional Qualification Examination for Registered Safety Engineers includes four subjects: \"Law on Work Safety and Related Legal Knowledge\", \"Knowledge of Work Safety Management\", \"Work Safety Technology\", and \"Case Analysis of Work Safety Accidents\". The exam is conducted over 4 half-days. 4. Validity period of exam results: The exam results are managed on a rolling basis with a cycle of 2 years; those who take all the exams must pass all of them within two consecutive examination years ; Those who take the exams for subjects exempt from testing must pass those subjects within one examination year.

(5) Hold a master’s degree in safety engineering or engineering economics, and have at least 1 year of experience in work related to safe production ; Or hold another professional master’s degree and have at least 2 years of experience in work related to safe production. (VI) Obtain a doctoral degree in safety engineering or engineering economics ; Or hold a degree from another professional field, with at least 1 year of experience in work related to safe production. Eligibility for exemption: Professionals who meet the registration requirements for the Professional Qualification Examination for Safety Engineers, have been appointed to a senior professional and technical position prior to the issuance of the Interim Provisions, and have at least 10 years of experience in work related to work safety, may be exempted from the two subjects of \"Knowledge of Work Safety Management\" and \"Work Safety Technology\". They only need to take the exams for \"Knowledge of the Work Safety Law and Related Laws\" and \"Analysis of Work Safety Accident Cases\". The materials to be provided during review and confirmation include: 1. The original valid identification document of the candidate along with 1 copy thereof ; 2. The “Qualification Exam Application Form” stamped by the organization (in two copies) ; 3. Original and 1 copy of the educational qualification (degree) certificate ; 4. One original and one copy of the professional technical qualification certificate.
