The AtoX type vertical mill is a vertically swept mill with a compact and robust design; it is equipped with an efficient rotary gas separator at its upper part, as shown in the diagram below. The AtoX type vertical mill has three grinding rollers, which are actuated by hydraulics to apply pressure to the material on the grinding table. The grinding disc is flat, so that the impact and grinding forces are transmitted vertically to the foundation via the support gear mechanism, thereby minimizing the vibration of the mill. The grinding roller rotates around a horizontal axis, which is fixed to a lightweight central frame. The grinding roller is equipped with enlarged bearings, lubricated by circulating oil, and features a robust sealing structure. The grinding force is applied directly to the roller shaft through three tie rods, which are connected to reciprocating hydraulic cylinders and enable the vertical mill to lift the rollers at startup. Three horizontal torsion arms are connected to the machine frame via rubber shock absorbers in order to balance the torque and keep the grinding roller unit in its proper position. The lightweight grinding roller suspension system in the structure also helps to limit chronic forces and any other form of vibration. The worn components have a substantial thickness and are constructed in modular sections, allowing them to be made from hard materials; moreover, each section of the component can be used in reverse. The drying and classification air currents enter the grinding chamber through a circular nozzle ring, which can be adjusted to achieve optimal airflow distribution and minimal pressure loss. The material particles that fall through the nozzle ring are collected by scrapers that move along with the grinding disc, and are sent to an inclined chute equipped with an air seal door; from there, they can be conveyed back to the feed inlet of the vertical mill. The rotating gas separator at the upper part of the vertical mill includes a rotor and an adjustable louver ring surrounding the rotor. The rotor is driven by a variable-speed device installed at the top of the vertical mill separation chamber. The significant advantages of the ATOX type vertical mill are: ① Compact structure with low space requirement ; Noise-free, can be installed outdoors or in open building structures ; ②Both the output and product fineness can be adjusted over a wide range by adjusting the grinding pressure, gas flow rate, and separator speed ; ③The feed particle size can reach 100–150 mm, and the maximum moisture content of the feed can be 20%; thus, the vertical mill has a high crushing ratio and strong drying capacity. ④Rising mills and fans have low energy consumption.
