Flexible joints generally refer to pipe joints that are relatively flexible. Pipe flexibility is a concept that reflects the ease of deformation of the pipe. It represents the ability of the pipe to absorb thermal expansion, contraction and other displacement deformations through its own deformation. When designing, one or more of the following measures are generally used to increase the flexibility of the pipeline:: Change the direction of the pipeline ; Choose waveform compensator, sleeve compensator or spherical compensator ; Use spring supports and hangers.
Rigid and flexible both belong to groove connections. The flange connection mentioned on the second floor should not have much to do with this. The specific distinction should be based on functional characteristics.: 1. Rigid joint (suitable for pipes without deflection); 2. Flexible joints (suitable for pipes with axial displacement and rotation)
Rigid joints are direct rigid connections, such as flange connections.
