Could you please tell me about the properties and uses of octafluoropentol?
Octafluoropentanol is non-flammable, non-toxic, non-corrosive and has excellent lubricity. It is a new type of fluorine-containing solvent. Due to its advantages of good solubility, fast vaporization speed and low toxicity, it is widely used as a pigment solvent for CD-RW.
Combustible in case of open flame or high heat. Can react with oxidizing agents. It decomposes under high heat and releases toxic gases. If exposed to high heat, the internal pressure of the container will increase and there is a risk of cracking and explosion. Generally used as a solvent for optical disc coatings
