The company uses domestic globe valves to shut off and supply compressed air in its air pipelines (probably DN40 or DN60). Over time, these valves start to leak. The person from the boiler installation company solved this issue by placing a silicone gasket on the valve seat; indeed, this method is simple, quick, and cost-effective. After using it, there were no more leaks. In the past, people would resort to grinding the valves or replacing their valve seats. Is using a silicone gasket a viable solution? Will the valve core spin around and push the shredded material into the pipeline? What about its durability? The expert provides an answer! Additional note: There are also stop valves used in compressed air pipelines that start to leak over time; are ball valves better in this regard? Ball valves perform better than gate valves! This is because when the fluid flows rapidly through a gate valve, it can cause erosion of the valve core; over time, it becomes normal for the valve to not be able to close properly. Ball valves use a ball to achieve sealing, and thus the erosion exerted by the fluid on the valve ball is minimal. The silicone pad provides good sealing, but its durability in this area is poor! ! ! It will indeed cause the problem mentioned by the original poster! ! For globe valves, it is generally necessary to replace the valve core or the PTFE gasket used for sealing! !
