As the title says! What are the main test parameters for coker wax oil, and what are the typical control values? What is the purpose of analyzing these?
Main analytical parameters and control criteria for coking wax oil: Specific gravity d204: 0.8768; Residue, % on ignition: 0.14; Viscosity, mm2/s at 50°C: 16.22; Viscosity at 80°C: 6.85; Characteristic factor K: 11.76; Boiling range, per ASTM D1160, °C: 275 at 5%; 357 at 10%; 365 at 30%; 389 at 50%; 409 at 70%; 432 at 90%; 448 at 95%. It’s not ASTMD1160; it should be written as D1160.
Modern coking units generally do not produce coking wax oil; only a small amount of it can enter the catalytic unit. The majority of this wax oil is used in wax oil hydrogenation to obtain high-quality catalyst feedstock
