Drainage and liquid discharge?

It is common to see drain pipes installed next to control valves, and drain valves are also used in many places. Are these two valves the same? Is it because they are located in different places that they have different names? I seek advice from experts.
The function is the same; both are used to drain the liquid accumulated in the low points.
It serves the same purpose; it’s just called differently – drainage, liquid discharge, gas release, haha
I think it’s the same. It’s just that different media have different names. Gas is generally referred to as evacuation. Liquids are generally called drain liquids.
