How is water treatment carried out in the coking industry these days? Are there any successful experiences or examples?
The A/O process is a typical biochemical treatment method for coking wastewater. In the A stage (anoxic stage), facultative anaerobic and obligate anaerobic bacteria degrade the high concentrations of organic matter present in the wastewater under anaerobic conditions; when combined with the O stage (aerobic stage) at the end of the process, this approach achieves a high efficiency in removing COD and ammonia nitrogen from the wastewater. The A2/O3 process is a process developed on the basis of the A/O process, with modifications made in light of the characteristics of coking wastewater. Section A1 is the anaerobic hydrolysis unit, and section A2 is the denitrification unit ; Stage O1 is the pre-aeration unit, Stage O2 is the nitrification unit, and Stage O3 is the carbonization unit. (I don’t have any examples of coking wastewater treatment.)
Our company primarily uses the modified AO process for treating coking wastewater, combined with the BAF process (aerated biological filter), which yields fairly satisfactory treatment results. There are multiple successful project examples!
