Some manufacturers of SHELL gasifiers do not add steam. However, it is difficult to determine the amount of steam generated by slag quenching, and there is still some steam in the quenched syngas returning from unit 16. Therefore, it is difficult to determine exactly how much steam inside the gasifier is involved in the reaction.
A comparison was made between using steam and not using it: 1. The oxygen-coal ratio needs to be increased appropriately when steam is used; oxygen consumption rises slightly, steam production decreases, but the effective gas volume increases and carbon dioxide levels drop, making it easier to maintain stability in industrial processes. 2. The operation without steam is not easy to stabilize; as can be seen from the steam output, there are significant fluctuations
Isn’t there a balanced reaction equation: carbon dioxide and water vapor produce carbon monoxide, which can convert ineffective components into effective ones?
This will definitely have an impact; steam is one of the raw materials for the reaction, and the amount added depends on how much steam can be produced by the slag quenching process.
Whether to use steam or not depends on the results of the conversion process; if it is for ammonia synthesis, steam must definitely be used;
