The service life of active cathodes used in ion membrane electrolyzers is generally 5 to 8 years. Generally, a voltage increase of 0.15V caused by the cathode alone can be regarded as the end of life.
The service life of the active cathode mentioned by the poster refers to the design service life, which is generally 6-8 years depending on the cell type and type. However, due to the chemical corrosion caused by polarization corrosion and membrane leakage in domestic manufacturers, most of the service life is 5-6 years before recoating is required.
The current problem is that the service life of the ion membrane is inconsistent with the life of the tank gasket and electrode mesh coating, causing difficulties in operation and management. It seems that the only way to strengthen daily management is to strive to extend the service life of the membrane and use good quality gaskets and other measures to reduce production costs.
An increase in the cathode voltage of the ion membrane electrolyzer will only cause an increase in power consumption and increase production costs, but it will not end the life of the cell, as long as you can bear the production costs.; The failure of the anode coating involves production safety. Before failure, when the residual coating is about 50%, recoating must be considered.
Nowadays, the ion membrane anode nets of various manufacturers are basically the same, but the cathode nets are different. The cathode nets are developed by themselves, and the cathode nets of each unit have different effects. Please tell me which cathode net is better when driving?
