After 20 years of use, the coke oven was suddenly found to have its furnace wall bricks bulging outward.
This phenomenon should not be caused by issues with the construction of the coke oven; the bulging of the furnace wall should occur at the furnace tip. The likely reason is large fluctuations in the temperature at the furnace tip, possibly due to low temperatures there, as well as untimely adjustment of the components used to protect the furnace, which leads to this issue. The main reason is the shutdown of the furnace; the temperature difference within the furnace might have been too large, and the duration was short as well.
