In our factory, for the ammonia solution processing, we use a tar-ammonia separation tank, three series-connected tanks for storing the remaining ammonia solution, and two parallel ceramic filters. Yet the ammonia solution sent out still contains a high amount of oil, which causes blockages in Tower 1 used for ammonia evaporation; Tower 2 also doesn’t perform well. Could you help analyze the reasons? Thank you very much!
First, the high level of tar in the clarification tank； Second, the residual ammonia tank was not drained of oil in a timely manner (bottom oil drain valve) ； Thirdly, the low temperature in the coke oven roof space results in a low density of tar, which prevents effective separation between ammonia water and tar.
