If a host computer reads data directly through the PLC’s communication port, it needs to be aware of certain aspects related to the PLC. The PLC is already in place, while the upper-level computer system is a new addition.

If development is carried out using VB or C, it is necessary to know the communication protocol of the PLC’s communication ports as well as to create drivers for those ports.
