In the butanol dehydrogenation method for producing methylethylene, SBA undergoes dehydrogenation within the reactor to yield methylethylene; subsequent cooling further facilitates dehydrogenation. What is generally the water content in the crude methylethylene at this stage? Thank you for the answer.
0.1% – at this point, there is very little water in the MEK. However, there is a relatively high amount of MEK and SBA in hydrogen; it is best to remove SBA and MEK through cryogenic treatment
Go back to floor 3; if the water content is only 0.1%, it should not be necessary to use a drying tower with n-hexane for azeotropic distillation to remove water. But this process exists in industry.

OP, how much water do you want?
The required quality standard for both A and B is 99.97%. How can one pass with only 0.1 water? 0.01% is about right. So, hexane was added for azeotropic dehydration.
It seems the original poster is also an academic. I don’t have any operational experience.

I’m sorry; I’m not familiar with this yet as I’m new to it. It’s not shameful to not know something. Thank you all. This post was last edited by dushanzi2000 on 2009-4-23 15:05.]
The moisture content of the products manufactured by our company is very low, never exceeding 0.01%; after passing through the drying tower, it is at most 0.005%
