When people disassemble and clean plate heat exchangers, what tools do they use to reinstall them? At my previous workplace, we used self-made wrenches for this task; it took a very long time and was also physically exhausting. Later, I asked a mechanic to create a bracket for lifting the plate heat exchanger, using a jack to lift it. The first bracket made wasn’t strong enough, and it bent. The maintenance worker told me that using a hand chain hoist is also a good option. I wonder what tools others use to remove and replace the panels?

Yes, we manufacture plate heat exchangers using 93 acid. Back then, in order to increase production and the heat exchange area, what was done was to increase the number of plates; they were all taken apart by simply unscrewing the fixing bolts, each plate was removed, cleaned, and then reassembled. As a precaution, all gaskets were replaced. (Gaskets are also very expensive.)

Cleaning them involves using a brush, and with plates that are less than one millimeter thick, brushing them several times can create problems.
