The turbine drives the compressor; the turbine used in Hangzhou Steam Power adopts a back-pressure plus condensing type, and during the initial startup, it stopped operation due to shaft vibration in the back-pressure machine. Later, the synthesis pressure was reduced to 3 kilograms; it was restarted half an hour after shutdown, but it failed to start due to a chain-stop caused by shaft displacement in the backpressure machine. We are going to get in touch with the manufacturer to take a look. But I don’t think there should be any problem; it’s likely that during the process from shutdown to restart, the cooling rates at different points on the turbine shaft and impeller vary, which causes an increase in shaft displacement when the machine is restarted. However, the axis displacement still triggers a high-level alarm during the shaft turning process. Let’s analyze what’s going on here
There may be issues with the installation of Unit 1, which cause excessive vibration after the unit starts up and lead to an automatic shutdown; first, perform shaft rotation, etc., and wait until the temperature of the unit’s turbine cylinder returns to normal before checking again the alignment of the unit’s couplings; 2. I opened it up to take a look today, and the bearing shells were severely worn. There must be two reasons: either it’s an installation issue or a problem with the operation when starting the vehicle. During individual tests, everything was normal; after joint tests as well, everything was fine and it was operated for a few days for catalyst reduction, during which the load was only around 5,000 revolutions per minute. After a month, another few days of operation resulted in a sudden shutdown due to excessive shaft vibration. Finally, it couldn’t start due to shaft displacement interlock as soon as the engine was started. Upon inspection, it turned out that the bearing bush had burned out.
