Who has any good methods for filling a closed-type differential manometer with mercury? Please share them
I don’t understand what you mean. Are you saying there is some good way to put mercury into a U-tube? Connect a 90mm funnel to one end of a latex tube, or use a separatory funnel; connect the other end to a U-tube. Pour the mercury in slowly – it is essential to do this slowly, otherwise the U-tube could be damaged, given the high density of mercury
You haven’t mentioned yet how to drive out all the air from the closed end What if there are small bubbles in the mercury or other trace impurities get mixed in during the filling process?
