Dear teachers, how can we determine whether the purifier on the methanol feed line of the catalytic distillation tower in the MTBE unit has failed?
It seems like it doesn’t matter whether that thing is broken or not; you can’t tell the difference in everyday use. No issues were found with the catalyst when it was replaced.
It is used in small amounts; methanol itself is clean, free of harmful impurities, and should therefore have high reactivity
