The grade has changed, and the chemical composition is not as strict as before.
The grades of stainless steel plates specified in GB4237-2007 have changed; designs are now created using the new grades. However, the steel plates purchased from the market are still of the old grades. Every time, it is necessary to go through procedures to use these old-grade plates with the existing drawings, which is really troublesome.
Although there are variations in the grades of stainless steel plates, they correspond fairly well to foreign grades. If your sourcing channels permit it, it’s completely fine to purchase them according to foreign grades!
For stainless steel in its old and new versions, not only do the grade numbers change, but the chemical composition of the material also changes. We require no changes for now, so we still use the old grade numbers.
