The color of the acid layer should not be darker than that of a standard solution containing 0.1 g of potassium dichromate in 1000 ml of dilute acid. Urgent, thank you
The color of the acid layer is not darker than that of 1000 ML of diluted acid containing a 0.1 g standard solution of potassium dichromate
It seems the sentence following it isn’t quite correct; the translation results from Google are more or less similar to this one. Last edited by Michael8455 on 2009-4-20 15:38.]
The color of the acid layer is not darker than that of the standard solution containing 0.1 g of potassium dichromate in 1000 ml of dilute acid. The color of the acid layer should not be darker than that of a standard solution containing 0.1 g of dichromate potassium dissolved in 1000 ml of the diluted acid solution. (The part marked in red is unclear; it’s not known how to prepare this solution.)
I think the second part of that sentence could be adjusted a bit, because I understand that this standard solution is prepared in this way, and its volume isn’t necessarily 1000 ml: ...that of the standard solution prepared by dissolving 0.1g of potassium dichromate in 1000ml of diluted acid.
I just checked the method for preparing a potassium dichromate solution: generally, potassium dichromate is first dissolved in water, and then sulfuric acid is added; it’s not prepared by dissolving it directly in sulfuric acid. I understand that this 1000 ml refers to the prepared potassium dichromate standard solution, with 0.1 g of potassium dichromate contained in 1000 ml of the solution.
The standard solution of 1000 ml of diluted acid containing 0.1 g of dichromate potassium – it’s common to see values expressed in ml and g; it just seems that the repeated use of ‘of’ makes it cumbersome, so it’s omitted: lol
Combined version: The color of the acid layer should not be darker than that of the standard solution consisting of 1000 ml of diluted acid containing 0.1 g of potassium dichromate. Another way of expressing this is: The color of the acid shall not be darker than that of the standard solution containing 0.10 g of potassium bichromate in 1000 mL of diluted acid. http://www.spc.com.cn/enspc/spc/pslook.php?Did=75&Cid=54&Dlev=2
