We plan to add 6 new cone-jacketed fixed-bed batch gas generators. I’m not sure what a cone jacket means – does it mean that the jacket is cone-shaped? Is the furnace body itself conical?
This post was last edited by GSP on 2009-8-4 09:14. Simply put, the space inside the jacket changes in size – it becomes larger or smaller. Of course, it’s hard to tell with the naked eye because the change is very subtle. I’m not sure what scale your company plans to achieve?
This is usually modified; the diameter at the top remains unchanged while the part below is enlarged, primarily to increase the cross-sectional area of the vaporization layer and thus boost the amount of vapor generated.

By simply saving the steel plate surrounding the top cover, it does provide some benefit for modifying the furnace; it’s possible to avoid making openings in the ceiling above it. Has the original poster compared the gas production per ton of coal and coal consumption for furnaces with the same diameter, those with a conical shape versus those with a straight barrel shape? If it’s just to increase that small amount of steam produced internally, the heating surface area of a straight-tube design should be larger. Not to mention the advantage of a conical shape for heat transfer, even if that were true, no boiler is known to be designed in a conical shape. It would be better to add a small self-circulating water jacket at the furnace outlet to increase the intensity; anyway, it’s something that “can’t even be distinguished by the eye.” What is the significance of choosing a conical shape for a new furnace? Reserveful. Personal opinion, for reference only.
