At present, the official production and operation is estimated to be about 1 million tons, and there are many co-production units under construction, with a scale of about 100,000-200,000 tons/year. like: At the end of 2004, the Second Design Institute of Chemical Industry built a coke oven gas-to-methanol device for the first time in Yunnan Qujing Gas Production and Supply Company, with an annual output of 80,000 tons of methanol. In 2005, Hebei Jiantao Company's coke oven gas to methanol unit with an annual output of 100,000 tons was put into operation. The third domestic unit is Shandong Tengzhou Shenglong Coal Coking Company's coke oven gas to methanol unit with an annual output of 100,000 tons. The largest coke oven gas-to-methanol device in China, the 2 million tons of coke and 200,000 tons of methanol project of Shandong Yankuang International Coking Company was fully completed and put into operation on December 16, 2006. Kailuan Clean Coal Company's 300,000-ton coke oven gas to methanol project was also put into use in early 2007.

There should be many projects under construction now. In Shandong Province alone, there are Linyi Hengchang, Weishan Tongtai, Jining Rongxin, etc. Now that steel prices are low, it should be a good time to start projects.

As far as I know, the methanol production process from coke oven gas of the Second Institute of Chemical Engineering is a process of first wet and dry desulfurization, and then catalytic conversion to produce methanol synthesis gas. I wonder if there is a process in which coke oven gas is directly subjected to non-catalytic conversion, washing, dust removal, sulfur tolerance conversion, and then desulfurization and decarbonization. Our factory is preparing a similar non-catalytic conversion process and is going to investigate it. If anyone knows, please tell me, thank you! .
