I have a question regarding shutdown operations: during shutdowns, our low-pressure system originally used residue oil for circulation, followed by diesel replacement and then the removal of contaminated oil. At the suggestion of our technicians, we are now planning to use deasphalted oil produced within the plant in place of residue oil for circulation. Does your plant have any experience with this approach? Is the effect better this way?
His main purpose is to perform substitution using the principle of similarity and compatibility! Both residue oil and deasphalted oil can achieve the same result! But the lighter components of deasphalted oil should yield better results than those of residue! Its function is the same as that of diesel; diesel is mainly used to replace the residue oil or deasphalted oil that comes later. Diesel may not be used directly because of the incompatibility between its components and those of deasphalted oil – if they were compatible, then diesel could be used directly! C3 solvent deasphalting simply involves replacing it with diesel! At C4, the deoiled asphalt component is relatively heavy; there’s a concern that diesel won’t be able to clean it effectively!
