What is the function and operation of the device evacuator?

I would like to ask everyone that in diesel hydrorefining units, an unit evacuator and a silencer are installed on the pipeline at the top of the liquid separation vessel at the inlet of the recycle hydrogen compressor. What is the function and operation method of the device evacuator? Could the experienced users give some guidance? Thank you all!
I’m not entirely sure either; the function of the evacuator seems to be to control the vacuum level at the top of the tower. I hope someone who knows more can answer!
