Can the gate valves at the gas field gathering stations be placed horizontally?

It seems that gate valves are generally installed vertically; however, I have recently seen some installed horizontally in pipelines, and this is due to problems with the pipeline corridor design – there isn’t enough space above, so the gate valves, which should be installed vertically, have to be installed horizontally instead. Are there any relevant standards or regulations? ?
For 1# gadfly, there is a national standard GB/T 12234 and GB/T 12234-2007, which relate to steel gate valves with bolted valve covers used in the oil and gas industry. Are there any regulations in this regard? Is the installation of gate valves based on these regulations?
Hello, the owner: Gate valves are generally installed in a vertical position; it’s rare to see them installed horizontally. However, I have indeed seen examples of gate valves placed horizontally. After asking, I found out that these were special types of gate valves, with ceramic valve seats located at the inlet of their internal chamber； The valve core features dual gate plates, with a ceramic sealing ring at the seal of the inlet gate plate ； An elastic component is provided between the two gate plates ； Several partition grids are installed on the side valve body on the medium outlet side. There’s no requirement that gate valves on chemical processing units must be installed vertically; many of our gate valves are installed horizontally. Are there any special requirements for gate valves in gas fields? Everyone, share your thoughts; it’s a good way to broaden our knowledge
May I ask: Can the \"special flat gate valves resistant to high sulfur and high acidity, CL150LB, and high-pressure flat gate valves CL900–2500LB–DN2500\", developed by Lanzhou High-Pressure Valve Co., Ltd., be installed horizontally? I think it shouldn’t be a problem if it’s placed horizontally, right? When placed vertically, gate valves may also close due to the effect of gravity! It seems there’s a rule regarding the gate valve at the inlet of the safety valve – it cannot be installed vertically; I’m not sure about anything else. Please, experts, share your insights
There should be no specific regulations. But it’s probably due to design issues, such as insufficient space, etc. I think vertical installation is more convenient for easy operation.
