File opening issues with several versions of Aspen

aspen10.0, 11.1, V7 – several versions; which one is the highest? Can V7 open the first two versions?
V7 is the highest, followed by 11.1, with 10.0 being the lowest; V7 can open files from the first two versions
The more common versions nowadays are mainly (from lowest to highest) 10.0, 11.1, 12.0, 2004, 2006, 2006.5, and V7; these versions are backward compatible.
For files that cannot be opened in version 11.1, can they be converted to a lower version? Here is a method for opening a higher-version BKP file using a lower-version Aspen. First, open the BKP file in a notebook program; you can see the version information on the first line. For example, in the author’s file, version V.7 corresponds to the number 23. So, change all instances of 23 to your own version number. I use version 2006, so I changed everything to 20, and that allowed me to open the file. Additionally, opening it in this way can sometimes cause other problems; it won’t run if there is no corresponding databank.
I’m also struggling with this issue; my 11.1 version can’t open files from newer versions, which is really frustrating!
