The heat exchangers made by some manufacturers using coated PTFE graphite are first coated with PTFE and then sealed with phenolic resin, which results in a short lifespan. Due to the problems that arise after the plasticization of perfluoroelastomers, true fully perfluoroelastomer-impregnated graphite heat exchangers have never been developed. However: I have been working on this research for some time now; it is possible to use PTFE for impregnation, and then seal it with a resin that has corrosion resistance similar to that of PTFE.
