Electrical faults can be divided into two categories: faults in the distribution components and faults in the control circuits. Faults in the control circuit can be further divided into two main categories: faults in contactor and relay circuits, and faults in electronic circuits. Fault phenomena in control circuits often include short circuits, open circuits (also known as breaks), failure to operate properly, malfunctioning, leakage current, as well as any control conditions that do not conform to proper design standards. There are also various faults that affect electrical safety, aesthetics, and cost-effectiveness. The presence of electrical faults often affects the normal operation as well as the safety and reliability of equipment. It is necessary to locate the fault point as soon as possible (commonly referred to as electrical fault diagnosis), eliminate the fault, and carry out repairs.
