In our experiments, we used a packed tower with a diameter of 100 and a height of 3 meters; how should the redistributor be arranged? Or whether it is necessary. Thank you.
Your tower has a diameter of only 100 mm, while the packing extends over 3 meters; it is recommended to divide it into three sections, each 1 meter long. A redistributor needs to be installed. Due to the small diameter of the tower, the redistributor can be designed simply by making the lower part of the packing in the upper section conical, in order to prevent wall flow.

For towers that are so small (usually with a diameter of less than 400), it is recommended that you adjust the size of the packing or the way it is installed, and ensure that the tower is installed vertically; there is no need to use a liquid distributor.
I still need it to avoid wall flow. Furthermore, is the laboratory designed for amplification? In that case, it is even more necessary to achieve ideal results in order for the amplification to be reliable and accurate. It should be bulk packing; it seems difficult to make packing that neat and large in size.

Hehe, the tower diameter is small and the packing section is long; it’s still necessary to divide it into sections, otherwise wall flow might occur. For the work we did, the smallest diameter of the regular packing used was 40 mm; it was designed for the laboratory at Tianjin University’s Distillation Center.
If it is a constant-pressure distillation column section, a 1m glass column section can be chosen; I have seen such sections in which there is a glass ring at one end that is connected to the column section and can be used as a redistributor. However, stainless steel packing is required
